Year 4 have been learning about the Swedish Christmas Celebration St Lucia Day. St Lucia Day is celebrated each year on 13th December and is the start of the Christmas Season for Swedish families. Many schools close early so children can dress up as St Lucia and Star Boys to take part in processions around the country. They also celebrated by serving breakfast to their parents in bed usually consisting of coffee, St Lucia Buns and Gingerbread. As part of this work Year 4 have written poems, baked Lucia Buns, iced biscuits and crafted hats. To celebrate their work and share their new knowledge with the rest of the school they delivered a short assembly too – God Jul!
